At what age can children take martial arts classes?

In our school we teach children from the age of 3.5 years. These children are taught in the Lil Dragon group. This course is adapted to the needs of children of this age. We teach the basics to become a successful martial artist as well as a human being. Social skills through joint lessons in a group, discipline through following rules and structure, fun in movement, self-confidence through overcoming small challenges, which become more demanding over time. The techniques are in the background. What? That's right, the prerequisites for success in our school, achieving the black belt, are precisely these qualities. Anyone who can learn and use these tools will one day be able to master a triple twisted heel kick to the head.

How is our school organized? (club, private school, etc.)

The Omnis Martial Arts Academy is a private school. It is a sole proprietorship run by the headmaster, Sifu Kayhan Gülmez. Since 2017 we have been a state-approved educational institution that can qualify students for martial arts professions.

Does my child have to fight?

No! If you want, you are welcome to choose another school. We teach duel from the age of 10. Between the ages of 3 and 10, we focus very strongly on developing motor skills such as coordination, endurance, strength, speed and agility, as well as character training. Furthermore, we teach some very demanding techniques from Kung Fu, Karate, Taekwondo and JiJitsu. We believe it is irresponsible to expose children to duels before the age of 10. Nevertheless, we teach self-assertion techniques that can help with abuse at school or on the street.

Martial arts aren't for children, why should my child learn them?

In our opinion, martial arts are very suitable for children. Martial arts, on the other hand, are not. What is the difference? ART / Sport : Martial arts are more about the art of getting to know yourself. That means knowing your power, strengths and weaknesses and working on getting better. The idea of competition is in the background. We teach the children forms - these are fixed movements that usually represent a virtual fight. Similar to a choreography. It's about being better today than yesterday. This can mean that the form is performed more powerfully and with more expression. In martial arts, the competition mainly takes place with oneself. Combat SPORT is always related to the competition. Be better than your opponent. It's all about this. Be respectful and polite, but still be better than your opponent. Both have their right to exist. That's why we offer both, since both parts ultimately complement each other (almost like yin and yang), only that we only teach the martial arts part with the necessary mental and physical prerequisites (from 10 years of age).

What qualifications do the teachers have?

Our martial arts teachers all complete the INSTRUCTOR College before they are allowed to teach. This is a separate training series by Sifu Kayhan Gülmez and his master students. The necessary skills for leading and leading a group, dealing with children and young people, communicating, martial arts theory and technical knowledge and much more are taught here. Our martial arts teachers are selected from our own ranks and undergo training to become martial arts teachers. Your child could also go through this training one day. In addition to our own further education and training program, many units are led by our dual students for a Bachelor of Arts in health management and our trainees for sports and fitness clerks, who can thus contribute further specialist skills to their child's lessons. To describe the qualifications of the headmaster Kayhan Gülmez one would need five whole books, which is why we simply say that he benefits from more than 25 years of martial arts experience and is happy to pass this on to his students. Convince yourself and visit one of our schools.

How often can I take my child to trial lessons?

We offer the opportunity to come to the trial lesson twice. You then have the option of registering your child directly or booking a trial month. You invest the tuition fee for one month of the finest martial arts instruction and your child even gets a martial arts suit as a gift, so that it sees itself as a full member of our academy right from the start. After the trial month, you can register your child or not. You have the choice.

What do I need to bring to the first trial lesson?

Loose sportswear and a bottle of water to drink (after all, it’s the best sports drink of all time. You also don’t want to attract attention if your child is the only one who has to drink a bottle of industrial fillers such as Cola, Fanta, iced tea or apple juice while other children have healthy ones drink water.)

Who should I contact if I show up with my child for the first lesson?

This is always different and depends on the location of the school. It's best to look for someone who looks like a martial arts master or teacher. If you cannot locate such a person, it may be because they are conducting a class. Talk to local members. They will direct you to the right contact person or help you themselves.

What martial arts styles are taught?

We teach a mix of different martial arts. The focus of our school is on Kung Fu. However, our programs also include influences from karate, taekwondo, kickboxing and judo. However, the focus of the training is on Kung Fu.

What is Hyper Pro Training?

Hyper Pro Training is an American martial arts program that is taught worldwide. It is not dependent on the style or martial arts system and combines traditional martial arts with the latest teaching methods based on the knowledge of experienced martial arts masters, psychologists and sports educators.

How often can my child attend martial arts classes?

We offer the possibility to choose between one lesson per week or two per week. From our experience, more training units are not more promising until the age of 10. At the invitation of the teacher, 3 units are possible, but this is rather rare. In the teenage years, however, there are opportunities such as attending the Instructor College, which is our academy's teacher training program, or attending the Black Belt Club (training unit for black belt candidates and black belt holders). Remember that other activities also play a role at this age (school, friends, other hobbies, etc.)

My child is very hyperactive and acts aggressively when approached by other children. Are martial arts classes right for my child?

Basically, there is no right one. However, our experience has shown that children who attend a sports program become more balanced and calm over time. The martial arts lessons in our academy should teach self-control and self-discipline, not increase aggressiveness or redirect it in the form of movement. Social skills are also important and are taught regularly in the form of mat talks where the teacher discusses topics such as courage, control, discipline, teamwork and goals with the children. Movement, clear structures, the right role models and the compulsion of the group lead to an improvement in behavior in the long term. This is not only confirmed by the parents of our young students, but also by the teachers who frequently visit our school, as soon as they learn that the change in behavior is related to the kung fu lessons.

Can children take part in belt tests with us?

Yes. We have a testing program designed to help children with goal setting and development. This program is not an official exam. The program documents your child's progress and motivates them to attend our classes regularly with great commitment and enthusiasm. This refers to the children aged 3.5 to 6 years. From the age of 7, the children take part in the official examinations of the association. These are recognized across associations.

Does the trial lesson cost anything?

no You can attend the class twice. After that, you should have talked to a teacher about the different possibilities in our academy.

Does my child have to train barefoot?

YES! Either barefoot or with gym slippers (ballerinas). Shoes are not allowed, as they will damage the mat floor and socks are not, as they lint and leave a lot of dirt. Furthermore, traction is reduced when your child trains with socks.

My child is 6 years old. Can it also take part in the Ninja Club (course for 7 to 10 year olds)?

It always depends on your child. In principle, the specifications that you can find on our media and websites apply. First register your child in the appropriate age group. If the martial arts teacher feels that your child is ready to start the Ninja Club, they will let you know. If not, politely ask what the impression was.

I have two children. Is it possible for both to be taught in one class?

If you have two children in the same age group, this is generally not a problem. A child who is 5 years old and a child who is 7 years old cannot train together. We can justify this with the different physical and mental development. The gradations of our programs are based on the stages of child development. Our curricula are adapted to these. So if you have two children and one needs to go to the Lil Panda group (ages 4 to 6) and the other to the Ninja Club (ages 7 to 10) then you should accept that. After all, it is about supporting and encouraging your child in the best possible way.

Can I bring/register my son's or daughter's best friend to the trial lesson?

Yes that is possible and a good idea. A passion or hobby that you can share with your best friend is twice as much fun. Please let us know the name of the friend and the email or phone number of the mother. Please announce the visit. Due to the maximum number of students per lesson, we can only arrange a certain number of trial lessons. Surely you understand that.

Can I come to a trial lesson without an appointment?

Please do not. The teacher will not be prepared for your visit and may even have to send you away if other people have already made an appointment for a trial lesson.

How many children are trained in one lesson?

That depends on the age group. Lil Dragons: max 10 students, Lil Panda: max 15 students (with 8 children per martial arts teacher) and Ninja Club up to max 25 students with two main teachers or 1 main teacher & two assistant teachers.

Why can't I find any prices on the homepages?

The amount of the monthly membership fee depends on various factors. We would like to show them our program on site and be able to explain everything to them. Despite the professional impression and the fact that we are a private sports school, the membership fees are an inexpensive investment in your child's future. Make an appointment to visit our schools.
